Description:

Includes the number of service connections as of December 31 of each calendar year for the reported years between 2017 and 2023. Count indicates the number of service connections for a public water system for a particular type of service. “Service connection” means the point of connection between the customer’s piping or constructed conveyance, and the water system’s meter, service pipe, or constructed conveyance. The electronic Annual Report (eAR) requires the PWS to provide the number of connections by type and potable metered or unmetered. Values included in the report for connection types include: • Agricultural Irrigation (Irrigation of commercially-grown crops) • Commercial/Institutional (Retail establishments, office buildings, laundries, schools, prisons, hospitals, dormitories, nursing homes, hotels, churches, campgrounds) • Industrial (All manufacturing) • Inactive Service Connections all types (Include only service connections that have been physically disconnected) • Landscape Irrigation (Parks, play fields, cemeteries, median strips, golf courses) • Multi-family Residential (Apartments, condominiums, town houses, duplexes and mobile home parks) • Single-family Residential (single family detached dwellings) • Other (Fire suppression, street cleaning, line flushing, construction meters, temporary meters). This data in the eAR is self-reported by PWS. The eAR data in this dataset includes some data that appears to have not been reported correctly, in other cases the numbers just look to be irrational. The data is provided as originally reported with minor transformations for machine readability and usability.
