This dataset provides the total number of applications for Insurance Affordability Programs (IAPs) received through the California Healthcare Eligibility, Enrollment and Retention System (CalHEERS) by submission channel (whether submitted online, by phone, mail, e-mail, outreach, fax, or other) in a reporting period. IAPs include Medi-Cal and subsidized Qualified Health Plans (QHPs) offered through Covered California. Application channels such as phone, mail, e-mail, outreach, fax, or other are submitted with the assistance from Service Center Representatives (SCRs), agents, or assisters. The number of applications submitted online represents applications directly submitted to CoveredCA.com by applicants. The Department of Health Care Services (DHCS) and Covered California jointly sponsor CalHEERS, which supports IAP applications for enrollment submitted through CoveredCA.com. This dataset is part of public reporting requirements set forth in the California Welfare and Institutions Code 14102.5(1)(A).
