NEVI 3 Needed Locations (November 3 2025)

The CEC has divided the federally-designated Alternative Fuel Corridors (AFCs) into twenty-three (23) Corridor Groups for the purpose of making NEVI formula funding available. The Corridor Groups are further divided into Corridor Segments, which are labeled A, B, C, etc. The Needed Locations are shorter sections within each Corridor Segment that are labeled i, ii, iii, etc.   Data Dictionary:Corridor Segment - A portion of a highway corridor.Corridor Group - A group of one or more corridor segments.  Alternative Fuel Corridor - The U.S. Department of Transportation Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) designates a national network of plug-in electric vehicle (EV) charging and hydrogen, propane, and natural gas fueling infrastructure along national highway system corridors. To designate these Alternative Fuel Corridors (AFC), FHWA solicits nominations from state and local officials and works with other federal officials and industry stakeholders.Needed Locations - A section of a Corridor Segment, as defined for the NEVI formula program, where an EV charging station is needed to satisfy build-out of the Alternative Fuel Corridor.Description: The description of the start and end points of the Needed Location.
