Sacramento-San Joaquin Bay-Delta Continuous (15 minute) Water Quality Monitoring: Yolo Bypass, collected by the North Central Region Office, Department of Water Resources, 2013 – 2025

The Department of Water Resources (DWR) Water Quality Evaluation Section (WQES) provides technical expertise and program support for regulatory compliance, water operations, emergency response, and environmental restoration. Wireless telemetry is used to transmit real-time data to the California Data Exchange Center (CDEC), making the data publicly available. The dataset details information at 15-minute intervals from 7 monitoring stations, using Xylem’s Yellow Spring’s Instrument’s (YSI) EXO2 and 6600 multiparameter sondes to document individual water quality measurements of multiple parameters. The data set consists of water quality data collected for the Yolo Bypass Monitoring Program in the Sacramento-San Joaquin Bay-Delta Yolo Bypass beginning in 2013 and continuing through the present. The stations included in this data package are: Ridge Cut Slough at Hwy 113 (RCS), Toe Drain at Road 22 (RD22), Toe Drain at Road 22 West (RD22 W), Toe Drain at I80 (I80), Yolo Bypass near Lisbon Weir (LIS), Toe Drai at Screw Trap (STTD), Rominger Bridge at Colusa Basin Drain (RMB), Yolo Bypass at Tule Pond (YBT). Parameters measured include water temperature, specific conductance at 25 C, dissolved oxygen, pH, turbidity, chlorophyll and fDOM. This dataset provides water quality data for the Yolo Bypass Monitoring Program and supports the Yolo Bypass Fish and Invertebrate Monitoring Program and the North Delta Food Subsidies study. Stations RCS, RMB, RD22, I80 and STTD were operated seasonally and most of the water quality data collected at these stations is from Summer and Fall. It is important to note that the start dates and subsequent equipment upgrades vary between stations and equipment leading to discrepancies in the dataset’s date ranges. ## About This Federated Record This CNRA Open Data Platform record is based on metadata federated from the Environmental Data Initiative (EDI) Data Portal.
