A list of data flags and qualifiers used in the SWP water quality data review process done by the Division of Operations and Maintenance. This list includes the flags/qualifiers and a description of what they mean. These flags/qualifiers are shown on the data tables in the "Sample Flag" column. For data points with multiple flags/qualifiers, each successive one is separated by a space or comma.

LCS or LCSD  is outside acceptance limits.

LCS and/or LCSD is outside acceptance limits, low biased.

LCS and/or LCSD is outside acceptance limits, high biased.

ISTD response or retention time outside acceptable limits.

Compound was found in the blank and sample.

This analyte was found in the method blank, which was possibly contaminated in the lab during preparation. The reporting limit was raised due to the contamination.

The recovery of this analyte in LCS or LCSD was outside control limit.  Sample was accepted based on the remaining LCS, LCSD or LCS-LL.

The concentration indicated for this analyte is an estimated value above the calibration range.

Sample was prepped or analyzed beyond the specified holding time

Sample ozonated prior to analysis due to lab receipt time exceeding 48hr method hold time.

Value is EMPC (estimated maximum possible concentration).

Low internal standard recovery possibly due to matrix interference. The result is suspect.

Result is less than the RL but greater than or equal to the MDL and the concentration is an approximate value.

Laboratory control sample duplicates RPD > upper limit

Laboratory control sample duplicate < lower limit

Laboratory control sample duplicate > upper limit

Due to insufficient sample volume, sample was diluted prior to preparation. The MDL and MRL were raised due to the dilution.

Due to the nature of matrix interferences, sample extract was diluted prior to analysis. The MDL and MRL were raised due to the dilution.

The extraction for this analyte was performed outside of the EPA recommended holding time.

Low recovery of this analyte in the QC sample. The analysis of the low level standard produced acceptable recovery indicating that the sample result might be accurately reported as Not Detected.

The MDL and/or MRL for this analyte has been raised to account for matrix interference.
